Christmas Morning!

Of all mornings Reese slept in a little bit on Christmas - it was almost 9:00 before he decided to get up!  We made sure everything was ready to go before we all walked out to see what Santa had left behind.  Reese wanted to be carried around until what was under the tree finally caught his attention!  He just kept looking at us and smiling like this is for me - I can play with this!  Ever since we went to visit Braylan I told John that Reese would love a kitchen set - he wasn't sold on the idea until he saw them and agreed that they weren't girly looking!  So Reese got his very own kitchen set and grille!!  Santa also left behind some cleaning stuff (vacuum cleaner, mop, broom) and a few other things!  We got him a basketball goal and some balls and a few clothes!  Santa also did a big stocking for Reese with lots of new things like coloring books, crayons, sippy cups, paci's, 2 new DVD's, books, some new ornaments.  There are so many traditions we would like to start with Reese and I think next year will be the best time to start them because he will understand them a little more.  I love the idea of us doing three gifts (because that's what Jesus got) and Santa doing all the big gifts so Reese will understand the difference and the meaning of Christmas, Jesus, and Santa!  We had such a great Christmas morning with just the three of us!

Santa Came!

I believe Santa made a visit to our house - it looks like he left some good stuff too!!!!

Christmas Eve!

We changed things up a little bit this Christmas so we weren't running all over the place seeing family so we got to stay in one place and spend more time with everyone!  On Christmas Eve we went to church for Vesper Service and then to John's family for dinner and presents!  Reese got so much stuff!  It was late when we got around to opening gifts and Reese was just about over it.  He actually still has 3 or 4 gifts there that are unopened because he was so over it!  Nonna and Pop were trying to get to church (midnight service) so we just decided we would do the rest of the gifts later.  So far though Reese got chairs for his table, a new monogrammed beach towel, some spanish speaking toys since Nonna is determined for him to be bilingual, lots of new pj's, a broom, money, and the most special gift ever for John and Reese was a book that was John's favorite book when he was little that he had to read every night before he went to bed (Albert The Albrotross).  Nonna found it on the internet and got it for Reese and wrote a special message inside for him and John.  It was a great Christmas Eve - but next year we are determined to start earlier!  After all someone has to be in bed so Santa can come!

Ornaments!

I made everyone in our family ornaments with my hand print for Christmas!  I surprised my daddy and made him one too for an early Christmas gift!

I Love Baskets!

Sometimes I like to get in my baskets and read a book and sometimes I climb in and get stuck and need somebody's help to get me out!

Acting Out!

Before I get into all of the Christmas posts I first wanted to make sure to put in the blog Reese's "acting out" he has been doing lately!  The first time we saw this side of him was last week while out doing some last minute Christmas shopping and then out for dinner!  It was awful and John told Reese several times that if he was just a little bit older he would be going outside for a good ole talking to!  Reese wanted no part of his high chair so he sat beside me - to occupy him I gave him my wallet (our fault for not bringing him any sort of snack for him) - he then dumped my entire wallet out onto the floor, next he took a cup full of water and threw it on the floor which ended up hitting the girls in the table behind us, then he dumped water on me, then he hit his head on the table and held his breath.  We put him back in his high chair where he would only eat on his terms and take a bite when he wanted to, he grabbed my fork so I took it back from him, then he grabbed the fork again and tried hitting me with it, next he bit me....do I really need to go on?  He was awful!  Oh yeah, he threw the food he didn't want on the floor.  In the past week he has gotten really bad about us doing something he doesn't want us to do like getting him to sit down in his high chair.  He looks for anything in sight that he can throw.  It is hard not to laugh when he does this because it is so funny to watch him stomp around and get mad.  Our best method so far is to ignore him but gosh it's hard not to laugh.  I'm not saying I'm perfect but he did not get these little temper tantrums from me!!  :)  Thank goodness most of the time Reese is sweet but he definitely has had a few little outbursts lately!

Grove Park!

Reese had a very busy weekend!  On Saturday night he went to Big Daddy and MeMe's Christmas party but I didn't get any pictures of him on my camera!  Then Sunday we went to Grove Park in North Carolina to see the hotel decorated for Christmas and eat!  We had a great time but I am so glad that Reese gets to stay in this week and rest.  He has not been feeling so great so I want to make sure he is well rested and feeling better before Christmas!
