A Huffy, Pool Time, and Re-Fried Beans!

After the doctor we went and visited my aunt for a little while where they gave Reese his very first bike...it's a Huffy with training wheels! They found it at a garage sale for $5 and cleaned it up for him! Now, I am going to start looking for garage sales because this was a great deal! After that we went to the pool to wait for John to get off and then went out to eat with Big Daddy where Reese tried re-fried beans! I can't say this was the best idea because it gave him the poops for a few days!! He definitely loved them though so it was worth it!

9 Month Check Up

Reese went to the doctor last week for his check up! Thank goodness for a healthy baby! The doctor checked him out and said Reese seemed like a very sociable baby - can't disagree on that! Reese has 2 teeth on the bottom now and has 4 coming in on the top - it might be a rough few weeks with 4 new teeth coming in! He weighs 18.5 pounds and was 27.5 inches long! Both fall in the 25th percentile - however, he falls in 100th percentile in cuteness!!! The doctor made a joke about Reese's length being on the shorter side - I still think Reese will hit a growth spurt soon!

9 Months Old!

Happy 9 Months Sweet Boy! The fact that I am already thinking about planning your first birthday party is enough to make me sit here and cry!! I love that you are growing up and learning all these new things but you were just a swaddled little infant only a few months ago. We couldn't believe when you first smiled, cooed, rolled over, recognized us, sat up, laughed out loud and now you have done so much more that we can't believe!

-You climbed up a flight of stairs all on your own - you saw Jack do it and it was like you two were having your own conversation - him telling you you could do it and you could! You always look back after each stair you climb to make sure we are watching.

-You crawl everywhere now - you will follow us anywhere we go in the house!

-You can stand on your own for a few seconds and take a couple of steps while someone holds your hands.

-You are developing a mind of your own and love to see what all you can get into.

-You are a boy in every sense of the word - you would love it if we would just let you climb stuff and then fall down - it cracks you up, you aren't easy with anything - you try everything with full force. You love climbing in your fire truck and then falling back out.

-You continue to be loud and scream at your toys - you screamed loudly at your toys last night for your Aunt and Uncle. You weren't crying - just yelling at them.

-You truly love to eat - you make this sound when we are feeding you that is hilarious! You grunt and grunt until the food gets to your mouth. You also flap your hands around - you are so excited!

-You have tried a few more foods but for now we have pretty much stuck with baby foods, some fruits, potatoes, tomatoes, and little bites here and there.....maybe a bite or two of icecream too!

-You have taken a sudden interest in all of your toys and you absolutely love being read to. You have a favorite book - the Snuggliest Snuggle - your face lights up when you open that book.

-You are still so interested in Boone and Buster but they pay you very little attention but you bounce up and down when they come in the room.

-You love playing - but generally not by yourself. You like it when we sit down there with you and you love playing with all your little friends/cousins.

-You have become a great sleeper but your internal alarm goes off EVERY morning between 6:00 and 7:15....it doesn't matter what time you go to bed that is the time you are waking up!

-There is only one person you want when it is bedtime and that is me - your daddy can get you to sleep but not if you see me. I love it and would be perfectly fine if this would last until at least your teenage years!

We love you and are so blessed that we are in this journey of life with you!

Happy Birthday America!!!

We spent a relaxing day by the pool yesterday only to be rained out in about 10 minutes! So we played inside, had barbecue for dinner and homemade icecream - can't complain about that! Plus, I think Reese was in need for a little rest from the sun! Here is my attempt at getting a few good shots of Reese on his first 4th of July - as you can see he absolutely hates wearing a hat! It is becoming an event just to try to put one on him. It usually involves one of us distracting him (sometimes with food - I won't lie) while the other one puts it on him! It all started with the bike helmet in Hilton Head - since then Reese will not wear a hat! Anyhow, Happy 4th of July from Reese!!

July 4th Weekend!

We spent the weekend doing what everybody does on the 4th - we went to the lake, ate a bunch of good food, went to the pool, and had lots of fun together! We rented a lake house with Tait, Navy, and Jack and had a blast! It was so much fun to be able to stay on the lake and let the boys play together all weekend! We put a baby pool on the boat which was perfect for them and us too - it was so hot outside!! Both boys pretty much hate their life jackets but I think Reese hates it a little more - he basically cries the whole time he has it on unless he is sleeping!

One funny story from the lake that Navy will definitely tell Reese about when he is older....John had Reese in the lake and he pooped so he had me grab him so I could change him since I was on the boat. I got his diaper off and wiped him down and handed him to Navy so I could wipe the seat off. In only a matter of a second he started to pee on her...no big deal and easy to wipe off. I grabbed a wipe and turned back around to see that he had pooped all down her leg....after we screamed and scared Reese to death we calmed down and I cleaned it up. It was hilarious and Navy of course laughed it off!!! What a great 4th Weekend!!!

Splash Pad!

We have been trying out all the splash pads around Knoxville lately - it's our new thing! Reese and Jack seem to enjoy it! There are always a ton of cute picture opportunities but I'm always afraid my camera will get wet so here are only a few! Now that they are both mobile (Jack is FAST) we end up spending the whole time chasing them and bringing them back together! They tend to crawl in opposite directions!

Making My Rounds!

Everybody was going out of town for the long weekend so I made sure to see my Big Daddy before he left and then swing by to see Nonna before she headed out. Momma didn't take my picture with them because sometimes she forgets those things but here are a few from when I was playing with them!
