Rice Cereal

Probably shouldn't start rice cereal when someone is this upset!

First bite

He doesn't look too impressed with his first solid food

We were given the go ahead to start rice cereal at the doctor so we went straight to Walgreen's and got some! I was so excited to try this out to see if it would help Reese sleep for longer periods at night. He is sleeping anywhere between 4-6 hours and the doctor says by his 6 month visit we should be getting 8 straight hours out of him - fingers crossed!
The first time with rice cereal was definitely not as I expected but that was our fault! I waited until Reese was too hungry and he just didn't have the patience to be spoon fed. I won't say he didn't like it - he just wanted his food right then and he was not in the mood to work for it! John kept telling me to only try a few ounces of milk with the cereal and see how he does but I was so sure he would just scarf down 5 ounces of it! Not so much - he maybe took 2-3 bites of the milk/cereal and probably got none of it down! We will try again tonight!

4 Month Check Up

Right after having his toe pricked
Interested in the band-aid
Waiting for the check-up

Happy - right before the shots!
After the shots!

Reese slept for about 2.5 hours after his appointment - it wore him out.

Yesterday we took Reese to the doctor to have his check up which of course meant shots! Reese now weighs 14 lbs. 10.5 oz. and 24.75 inches long (like John says he is almost half as tall as Nonna) - both in the 50 percentile which is great! The doctor made sure he is doing everything that a 4 month old should be and he is! We were told we could start rice cereal (see pictures above) but to hold off on fruits and vegetables until he is 6 months to prevent food allergies. Reese didn't make a peep when his toe was pricked and was very interested in the colorful band-aid the nurse put on his toe. He laid their at first when he got the shots and we didn't think he was going to cry but the tears came when the 2nd shot went in. It's so tough to see a baby so happy and then in a second be so upset. The doctor said Reese is as healthy as can be and developing just like he should be!

Another Birthday Dinner With Friends!

We got together this week with our friends and babies for another birthday celebration! All the babies behaved perfectly - we will let Braylan's face slapping slide this time and call it a perfect night! It is fun getting together with all of our friends and so strange to see us all with babies! Times have definitely changed!

Birthday with My Sweet Boy

Wearing his birthday suit for Momma....

This was definitely the best birthday yet even if I was turning 30! It was a nice relaxing night with just the 3 of us - there is no one else I would rather be with than these 2 guys! John got us Bravo's and we sat here and watched a special on the Kennedy Family! Reese even got me a card that he signed and everything and even put his hand print on it (thanks Grammy)!
As I type this Reese is sound asleep on my lap and I continue to realize how unbelievably blessed we are!
Tomorrow night we are going to do a little more celebrating with Navy, Brooke, and Heather...I'm sure there will be lots of pictures as all the babies will be together again!

Birthday Fun!

Getting ready for the party

Sweet picture of Aunt Marcy and Reese
Buster stayed with Wes and Marcy this past weekend and he has realized that Marcy cooks a whole lot more than I do - therefore he never left their kitchen! He put on a show too last night with all his begging!

Last night we got together with my family for my birthday....Reese definitely stole my show but I will let it slide! He is so funny to watch now - everybody couldn't believe how vocal he has become and how he loves more than anything his feet! Reese was on my lap playing in the floor and Buster walked right up to him and licked him on the face - Reese kept his eyes on Buster the rest of the night! He wasn't sure what that licking was all about! Thanks for an awesome birthday celebration and my favorite kind of dinner Marcy!!

Atlanta Weekend!

Checking out the course daddy just played

Last weekend we took Reese to Atlanta to stay with Faux Aunt Angie and Chuck! Reese got to meet some more of his family that weekend from New Orleans too! We all met in Atlanta and had the best time...Chuck and Angie definitely know how to host a fun get together! Saturday we took Reese to the Atlanta Aquarium - if you haven't been you need to go, it is awesome! We took Reese to the Aquarium when he was just 5 weeks old so this time he was so fun to watch. He was amazed with all the fish and the bright colors! After the Aquarium we had a little birthday celebration for moi with an awesome dinner (thanks Karen) and lots and lots of cupcakes (thanks Chuck)! On Sunday the guys played golf and the girls played Catch Phrase to prove to ourselves we were definitely better than the guys since we got beat Saturday night - I could probably write a whole other blog on that alone! Then we met the guys for an awesome lunch!! Reese got plenty of loving from everybody there...Aunt Missy was really worried about him because he hadn't pooped in so long but we let her know that he made up for it on the way home! Thanks again for such an awesome weekend...we will be back in April!!
