Arrival Day
The big day has finally come!
We got to the hospital at 5:30 this morning. The nurse came in around six and gave Kelli the IV. They just started the pitocin at 7:30. The doctor will be here to break her water around 8:00. Then I guess we wait. I will have another post after the doctor checks her for progress.
The doctor broke her water around 8:00. My hand is now broken and I think I need a cast. Just kidding. By her reaction a broken hand would be pleasant compared. She was not prepared for that. Her contractions are becoming consistent. However, she is only dialated 1 cm. and they are expecting a long labor.
Kelli got her epidural about 10:30 and is now numb from the waist down. We are now waiting painlessly.
Latest update. 3:10. Kelli has had very good contractions for a couple of hours now. They just checked her and she is still not dilating. This is because he is not dropping to push on her cervix. He is probably caught on one of the fibroids. The doctor is coming in around 4:30 to decide whether or not to do a c-section. Whatever is best for Kelli and Reese! I will post again after the doctor comes back.t
5:00. Doctor Edmunds just checked her again. Still no progress with dilating. She has to do a c-section on twins that aren't doing well then going to start prepping Kelli for c-section. She said it will take about an hour so if they start at six Reese should be here around 7:15. Reese is doing great so she is not worried about letting him hang out a couple more hours. Obviously he likes it in there. Hopefully the next post will be pictures of healthy Reese.
WE HAVE A HEALTHY BOY! 20.5 inches 7 pounds 5 ounces. Pics coming soon.
