A couple of weeks ago Reese got very sick...so sick that he ended up in the ER. He went to his doctor on a Wednesday for what his doctor thought was a bad sinus infection. On Thursday I knew it was much much more than a sinus infection. I could not keep him awake for anything. He would wake up for maybe 10 minutes at a time and then go right back to sleep. On top of that it had been a couple of days since he had eaten anything and he didn't want a thing to do with playing. On Thursday night I called the on call nurse and told her the situation and she said to get him to the ER now. So we got him in the car...prayed the whole way there that nothing serious was wrong with Reese and got him checked out immediately. I can panic pretty easily...John does a much better job of staying calm but we were both scared this time that something was wrong. Reese was so pitiful in his hospital gown but still so cute!! He had all of his vitals checked and had a temperature of over 102. The doctor listened to him and heard a lot of wheezing so did a chest x-ray and found out that he had pneumonia!! So he gave him a shot (we had to wake him up to get the shot which was awful...we knew he already felt terrible but we knew the shot would help him get better so much quicker). He also was put on an inhaler for his wheezing...he at first hated it but is already used to it. By Friday afternoon we could already tell a difference in him but it was several days before he was back to his usual self. We thanked God that it was just pneumonia...even though this could be serious it was caught in time and for that we were so thankful!!
