The Lake

We took Reese to the lake for the first time this past weekend! The lake has always been one of mine and John's favorite places to be so we couldn't wait to get Reese up there! He loved it except for having the life jacket on. He looked like a mummy in it because he had no idea how to move with it on. We kept it on him while the boat was moving but once we got to an island we took it off of him for a while. We know we will always spend many summer days on the lake so we will keep working on getting him used to the life jacket! We swam for a while and then took a boat ride and Reese took a long nap. Reese loves being in the water so we knew he would have a great time at the lake.

World's Fair Park

We went down to the World's Fair Park last week to take a picnic and hang out with all of Jack's cousins. It was the perfect day!! It was hot outside but we sat under a tree for shade and played in the water. Reese doesn't have any cousins yet so he loves being around all of Jack's! He also loves Jack's aunts because they love to feed him - he has now had a variety of food....tiny tiny pieces of popcorn, rice, cheese, and all the puffs that he wants!! Tobias Harris (former UT basketball player) was down there and Reese and Jack had their picture made with him! We will definitely go to this park more often - it was fun!

Play Date

We got together last week for a play date with Jack and Braylan! This time we tried out Harvest Town Park since it is so hot and there are water sprinklers there for the kids to play in. We had a little picnic and then it was off to play! I love watching Braylan look at Reese and Jack like seriously mom you brought me to play with these two - they can't even walk yet! They all played in the water and then Braylan was off to the play ground! Poor Heather had to sweat it out and push her on the swings for a while! We love it when Heather and Braylan are in town - it's fun for the babies and the momma's!

Presents For Me??

Uncle Wes and Aunt Marcy have been on vacation for what seemed like forever - I'm used to them stopping by the house pretty often to see me so I'm glad they are finally back! They are fun to play with - Uncle Wes lets me sit in his truck sometimes and Aunt Marcy loves to do everything for me so it gives momma a little break! They had gone to Ft. Lauderdale and brought me back the cutest t-shirts and I can't wait to wear them!!

Aunt Marcy also fed me mushed up bananas for the first time - as usual with any food - I loved them!!

I put on a little show and cried when I had to go to sleep - I wanted to stay up and play with them!

8 Months Old

Don't ask me how it is possible that 8 months have gone by because I don't have any explanation! It is impossible to me that you aren't that newborn baby anymore who slept pretty much all day long! So much has changed - here is a glimpse at what you have accomplished this past month!

- You have developed the funniest personality and you know it! You have become a little ham and crack us all up! You love to put on a show and if you know everybody is watching and laughing you just keep on going!

- You used to be this quite little baby who had the softest little voice - now you are LOUD!! Especially when you get excited - you just get louder and louder!

- You are almost there with crawling - you get where you want to go but you are more like a little inch worm. You get up on your arms and legs and move a little but then you just inch along. Toys don't entice you to crawl - it's our cell phones, Buster, or Food!

- Food - you love food. I think we could feed you all day long and you would eat. It doesn't matter what it is; you will eat it. You love all your green veggies, all the fruits, not joking - you love anything and everything! You make the same face every time you take a bite out of food - like you hate it but then you scarf it down. We can never feed you fast enough - you are too excited for the next bite and start waving your arms up and down.

- You are a little momma's boy - you are fine when somebody wants to hold you until you see me or hear me. You keep an eye on me and make sure I stay close!

- You do not want to sit anymore - you want to climb on everything. You have been getting yourself into the standing position for a month now - everyone says walking will be next but I hope we still have a few more months on this one.

- You suddenly hate it when we change your diaper, change your clothes, or put a hat on you - this is becoming a task! You squirm all over the place, get mad, and get over it in a matter of seconds though.

- Still say dadadada constantly- you did mommamomma for about a week but now you are back to dadadada!

- You like mocking us - when we make loud noises you try to make loud noises.

- Your favorite thing in the world is being outside - you are the happiest baby when we are at the pool or you are taking a ride in your wagon or car! You can stay in the pool for hours and just splash around and be so content!

As always I'm sure there are things I have left out but you do so much it is hard to remember them all. We do know that time flies by and we try our best to make every day be better than the last with you!! You will never understand how much you changed our lives!!
