1 Year Pictures

Thanks again Jessica...these are the best!!!!

1 Year Old!

All day I have thought about what I was doing on this day a year ago - there are days in each of our lives that we will never forget and that was one of them for me! I remember every single detail from 5:00 a.m. that morning until the second you were born - it gets a little hazy for me after I was drugged up and cut open! We won't talk about all that...I remember the second you were born just like it was today! I couldn't believe the perfect little round head you had (ha...you really didn't but to me it was perfect)! I remember how tiny you were and how good you smelled after that first bath, how you were so alert, and so content, and so amazing, and how instantly we were changed. Everyone told us how hard being first time parents can be but I can tell you we have never once not even for one second thought this was hard - it is everything but hard. I don't know if it is because you are so good or we are that good...ha, truly I just think it is because this is what we are meant to do. God blessed us with you to be your parents and we will try our best to never let Him down.
There are so many things you can do now - here are a few:
-You love to talk on the "phone" - you will pick up anything and hold it to your ear and jabber away. Guess you see your daddy doing this! Ha!
-You love shaking your head no - you look like you are going to shake your head off when you do this. You shake your head no to everything - even to food when we know you really want some.
-You went from taking a few steps to 20, to 40, then to just walking all the time non stop!
-You are eating pretty much all table food now - we try to keep it healthy but you do get some yummy stuff too! You still eat a little baby food but not much!
-You wave bye bye to everyone - in the store, at the mall, on our walks.
-You are understanding so much more - you are putting words with objects. Sometimes I am so surprised at the things you understand.
-You look at me and say mama mama when you need something - I love this.
-You say something that sounds like Buster - you say a lot of words that sound like a lot of things actually and will carry on all sorts of conversations with your toys.
-You are a happy happy baby and have such a fun personality - you are so easy to get to laugh and giggle.
-You love the Tennesse Tickler - this is what your daddy calls it when he tickles your belly. If he says those words you start trying to tuck your head in to cover your belly. You let out the highest pitch laughs when he does this. Or when he says "I'm going to get that neck"...you go crazy!
-You are starting to get a little shy when we first get places and try to tuck yourself between my legs - it's really cute!
-You do not like it when somebody walks out of the room on you - this has been going on for a long time but seems to have gotten a lot worse lately. If I try to sneak to the kitchen to get a drink sometimes you will lose it or if we walk past you without picking you up you will lose it. You want us or whoever is around to be right there with you.
-You love to imitate what we are doing - like brushing your hair.
-You sleep in your crib and you drink from a sippy...ha....just kidding but we promise to have those two things accomplished in the next year!.............Maybe!!!

Look Who is 1!!!

We wanted to make Reese's birthday extra special today so it started out with things that we hope we will make a tradition on his birthday! When I was little I remember my mom having me a blueberry muffin with a candle in it on my birthday so I did the same for Reese! Since he was having his bday breakfast Boone decided he would eat the stick of butter I had out so then I felt bad for Buster so he got a muffin too! After breakfast we got ready and went to the Children's Museum in Oak Ridge with Navy and Jack! Jack showed up with Reese a box of thumb print cookies in the colors of his party (he must have known Reese loves those). I was excited for Reese to do something different on his birthday but this turned out not to be fun! There was absolutely nothing for them to do! So we left and took them to the mall to let them play and have lunch!
When John got home from work he showed up with a gallon of ice cream that is his and Reese's favorite so they had a few bites together before dinner. Then John put together the work shop we got him for his birthday and Reese broke it in by banging it with his golf clubs!
Then tonight we took Reese to Bravo's where he had spaghetti for the first time! At first we didn't think he liked it but once we just let him feed it to himself he loved it! I hope we make this another tradition and take him to Bravo's every year for his birthday! It has been a fun day - so so so hard to believe he is 1!

Me & Buster!

The weather this week has been great - me and Buster love to hang out in the front yard!

I've Been Krogering!

Me and Mama went shopping for my party this week and the cashier gave me a bunch of stickers - Aunt Amanda reminded me that next time I go I need to get a cookie! I hope we have to go back to the store tomorrow!

Hilton Head - Day 9 (Last Day)

We leave tomorrow so today we tried to fit in as much as we could! We woke up and took a bike ride, then went to the pool, then to the beach and relaxed and took some wagon rides. We stayed on the beach until 6:30 relaxing as much as possible and then came in and took another bike ride on the beach! It is so hard to leave but all good things have to come to an end at some point! :( I can't believe how much Reese's hair has grown - he is sporting a nice mo-hawk in some of these pictures!
